Year 6

Welcome to our Year 6 page!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

A warm welcome to Y6. We know how exciting and also nerve-racking the last year in Primary School can be for both you and your child, so we want to support you in every way we can. This year will see Y6 using the new curriculum in all subjects. Beginning last year, there have been changes to reporting and assessing pupils’ progress, as levels are no longer in use. You will receive information about this and whole school issues through school newsletters and parents’ evenings. If you require more information, feel free to pop in to see us at any time!

Thanks so much,

Miss Simpson and Mrs Willington

Our Year 6 teachers are Mrs Willington and Miss Simpson

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Harrison and Miss Readman

As last year, we will be using the new national curriculum objectives and assessments.

PE for both Year 6 classes will take place on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays but this is subject to change.

Homework will be handed out each Tuesday to be returned the following Tuesday.

Children are encouraged to read every day and record this in their reading record, which should be brought into school each day.
