Called to Serve

C2S Overview

Our academy has launched a mission entitled Called to Serve to promote our common message and to connect with our communities and those within the community who need assistance.

Here at St. Edward’s we recognise that, through our baptisms, we are called to share in Christ’s vocation to spread the Good News and serve one another. Serving one another is something that we strive to do every day in the name of Jesus.

Over the course of the next academic year, we will share pictures and stories of our “service” to God, one another and our communities. Check this page regularly for updates and progress of our Called to Serve mission.

Please see the link below for our plan for the year.

December 2018

Launch Liturgy

On Wednesday 19th December, we launched our mission through a shared liturgy. Each class planned and led a different stage of the liturgy.

CAUSE Hampers

During December, each class collected food, gifts and other festive goodies for families who may be less fortunate. Your generous donations have enabled many families to have a far more happy Christmas – thank you.

Care Home Carols

Our school choir visited a local Care Home in the last week of term to sing carols with many of the residents. This brought joy to so many with the children receiving lots of compliments in return!

Year 5/6 Advent Liturgy

Our eldest children led our school and parish families in a spiritual and moving service to draw our season of Advent to a close. We focused on the real meaning of Christmas and the examples of faith by those people we hear of in the Nativity.
